Matthew Cocking

Matt founded Avanti Homes in 2020 with a commitment to build quality homes with exceptional craftsmanship, as well as create lasting friendships and legacy properties. He began his construction career in 2008 as a Project Manager with a national commercial contractor. Managing large-scale projects honed his ability to oversee multi-million-dollar budgets with complex trade coordination. In 2017, he transitioned to building residential spec homes in Denver’s Park Hill, Wash Park, Hilltop, and Mayfair neighborhoods, quickly realizing his passion for crafting high-quality residential homes. 

Originally from a small town near Wichita, KS, Matt moved to Colorado in 2002 after graduating from Kansas State University. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, coaching his son’s baseball team, and spending time with his wife and kids. Go Wildcats!

The Avanti Process

    Initial Consultation

    The initial consult allows Avanti Homes to learn more about the client’s vision, whether it’s a new home, renovation/addition or basement remodel. The goal of step one is to discuss the client’s goals and objectives, overview of the construction process and feasibility analysis based on the client’s budget and/or plans provided by an Architect or Designer. If the client needs an Architect and/or Design Team recommendation, Avanti Homes can happily introduce you to its trusted partners.

    Design Development

    In the design development phase, schematic drawings are issued, and Avanti Homes will work with the Architect and/or Design Team to create a preliminary construction budget and timeline for review. Should the client decide to move forward with Avanti Homes, a construction agreement will be presented. After the construction agreement is executed, the Architect will provide detailed construction documents so the construction budget can be refined. At this phase, Avanti Homes will proceed with obtaining approvals and building permits.

    Construction

    Construction begins! Throughout the construction phase, standing meetings between the client and Avanti Homes will be scheduled. Meetings include site walks, finish selection reviews/sign-offs, and Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings.  At substantial completion of the project, there will be punch list walks, warranty information delivered to the client and in-person instruction on how to operate key components of the house such as HVAC, lighting systems, appliances, plumbing, etc.

    Warranty Walk & Sign Off

    Avanti Homes conducts a final inspection and hands over the completed home to the owner.  A warranty walk is offered 11 months after certificate of occupancy as the warranty period is for 12 months. This is a benefit of working with Avanti Homes!
